The World Science Fiction Convention (“Worldcon”) is an international gathering of the science fiction and fantasy community, with a great tradition behind it. The first Worldcon was held in 1939, and, after a break during WWII, the event has been held annually since 1946, with the location changing each year. Although some locations have hosted Worldcon many times over the years, Worldcon 75, in August 2017, will be the first Worldcon ever to be held in Helsinki. We are proud of this, and of the opportunity to share Finland with Worldcon – and Worldcon with Finland.
