When PI Dick Hardesty's partner Jonathan joins the local gay men's choir, he has Dick's full support. Through Jonathan's eager relating of what's going on with the chorus, Dick is gradually drawn into the various behind-the-scenes intrigues,rumors, gossip, ego clashes and struggles for control between chorus director Roger Rathenberger and the group's primary financial backer Crandall Booth. Then Booth's "nephew" and protégé Grant Jefferson comes on the scene with his own disruptive set of priorities and sets the plot boiling. A suspiciously coincidental hit-and-run, a CPA's heart attack, a vengeful son, jealous partners, a new friend for Jonathan and murder are thrown into the mix, and  Dick is hired by the chorus's board of directors to find the killer. The reader is, as always, invited and encouraged to share Dick's journey of discovery through  a minefield of potential suspects, clues, brick walls and red herrings...and to try find the killer before Dick does.
